Rubin Singer Shearling Fur Coat
A third-generation designer (his father, Alik, designed costumes for the Bolshoi Ballet), Rubin Singer started his career at Oscar de la Renta before being tapped by Bill Blass. Launching his namesake collection in 2007, he was able to express his own style. "My clothes celebrate strength, refinement, and an aggressive sensuality," he says. "It's this paradigm of attributes that define my work and ultimately those who wear it." Rubin Singer creations—most especially dresses and gowns—have gained a critical and celebrity following. Every fresh innovation, however, is always grounded in traditional techniques and core couture beliefs.
